This Chester County Armory listing is for a rarely-seen for civilian sale Penn Arms P540-1 multi-shot 40mm grenade launcher with pump advance in new, unissued condition. This item is an NFA registered Destructive Device.
The Penn Arms model P540-1 is a pump advance multi-shot grenade and less lethal launcher chambered in 40x46mm NATO. It was formerly known by Penn Arms as the model PGL65-40, but has recently had its model name updated by the manufacturer in order to bring all of its products into a similar nomenclature setup. This model features a six shot, 5″ rotary cylinder magazine that is operated with a pump action for reliable multi-firing operation for any type of 40mm ammunition. It features a 12″ 40mm fully rifled barrel, a full length optics rail, iron sights, and a fixed stock. This model is factory model number P540-1.
These launchers are only sold directly to Law Enforcement or the Military by the manufacturer, even though they are an NFA registered device that is transferable to civilians. These are the first new, unissued models that are transferable to an individual that we have ever been able to secure for sale. All transferable models we’ve handled or seen in the past have always been LE/military used items and were typically in only in fair to good condition.
This fantastic, new production model will come packaged in its original Penn Arms factory box, along with its original factory Penn Arms instruction manual, original Penn Arms Inspection Tag, 40mm cleaning brush, and original factory sling. The weapon itself is in new, unfired factory condition with the original factory grease still fully intact on the rotary mechanism.
This Penn Arms 40mm grenade launcher is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer. The current Form 3 paperwork lists “Combined Systems Inc” (the parent company of Penn Arms) as the manufacturer and “P540” as the model.
Individuals: prior to purchase, please make sure your Class 3 FFL/SOT dealer can accept a Destructive Device transfer. Under ATF rules, Type 01, Type 02, and Type 07 dealers may only accept two DD transfer’s per SOT year. An acknowledgement letter from these types of FFL/SOT dealers will be required to process a transfer. Type 09 and Type 10 FFL/SOT dealers are exempt from this requirement.
