This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare, factory original Interdynamic MP9 9x19mm NATO transferable factory submachine gun.

Created by the Swedish company Interdynamic AB of Stockholm, the MP9 was the original, full-auto predecessor to the Intratec TEC-9 line of semi-automatic pistols that helped define gun design in the 1980’s. This from design-to-concept model was manufactured and registered in the US by Interdynamic in Miami, FL. They manufactured less than 30 of these models as factory full-auto submachine guns. The MP9 was originally designed in the 1983-84 time period by George Kellgren (while he was the head designer for Interdynamic AB) and was one of the last factory-original designed machine guns to be added to the NFA transferable registry prior to the 1986 legislative changes. It was originally intended for military applications, but when Interdynamic AB could not find a government buyer, Kellgren himself brought the design to the US and tried to make a commercial run here to a consumer audience, instead. Only a handful of full-auto factory versions were produced, before Kellgren realized changing the design to a semi-automatic Title One pistol (the Intratec TEC-9) made more sense for sales volume.

With a design based loosely on the Swedish K sub gun design, the MP9 model features a 6.8″ barrel, forward vertical grip, and an original, telescoping wire stock. This particular example is serial number 29. This weapon is factory machine gun and is NOT an Intratec TEC-9 conversion gun. Purchase will include one original factory magazine.

This rare example is in excellent overall condition and runs flawlessly with standard 9mm SAAMI spec ammunition. Mechanically,  the fire control internals note only minor use and the bolt assembly display limited wear markings. The bolt face remains crisp and clean. The barrel rifling remains bright and shiny with clean rifling observed. Neither the metal upper receiver, nor the polymer lower note any cracks, dents, dings, malformations, etc. or anything that would be considered problematic for operation. Cosmetically, this weapon is in very good overall condition, with minor handling marks and light surface scratches observed in the original parkerized finish of the metalwork. Some slight oxidation is noted around the left side of the front sight ramp, but there is no pitting observed. The polymer lower receiver is in excellent cosmetic condition with no points of concern.

This very rare MP9 factory machine gun is fully transferable and is currently on a Form 3 for quick and easy purchase. The current NFA paperwork notes the manufacturer as “Form 2 Registration” and the model as “MP9.”
