Status: In-Stock / Please Call to Purchase
This Chester County Armory listing is for a transferable US production General Motors Corp. M2HB Browning .50BMG belt-fed heavy machine gun with tripod and pintle mount.
Affectionally known as “Ma Deuce,” the venerable M2 Browning has remained solid as the pinnacle of US heavy machine guns, having been first introduced to service in 1933 and still fully utilized in the US military today. From infantry support to anti-aircraft batteries, tank mounts to aircraft mounts, ship turrets to HUMVEE turrets, the M2 has consistently shown versatility and reliability that has kept it active for almost a 100 years with only minor upgrades and changes along the way. With all due respect to the GE M134 Minigun, it’s 45 inch barrel, 80+ pounds weight, and impressive .50 caliber projectiles keep the M2 as the true showstopper at machine gun shoots across the United States. Some guns may be faster, but there is a reason these models haven’t been replaced.
This beautiful transferable heavy machine gun was originally factory made by the Frigidaire Division of the General Motors Corporation in Dayton, Ohio. This C&R eligible model notes a US government inspection stamp and a “J.C.S.” marking, along with corresponding proof markings, noted that it would have been upgraded by Johnson Component Services. Johnson Component Services was a government contractor that typically replaced worn parts and/or modernized and upgraded M2’s for the US Military. Overall condition on this model is in outstanding condition both mechanically and cosmetically. All mechanisms operate smoothly and appropriately. The metalwork is solid, with no dents, dings, cracks, malformations, etc. observed. The fire controls and bolt system note only minor wear. The bore of the barrel remains clear and well-rifled. Cosmetically, this model is also in excellent condition with a beautiful gray parkerization and only limited handling marks observed.
Purchase includes the pictured WWII-era ground tripod, pintle mount, and T&E mechanism, along with a Pelican-style wheeled hard case for the receiver, barrel, mount, and T&E (case not pictured). The tripod notes minor paint chipping and oxidation patches at spots, but remains fully functional and operational. The pintle mount is also in very good condition, with only moderate finish wear observed. The T&E is in very good condition, as well, with only minor surface markings.
This collectible belt-fed heavy machine gun is fully transferable and is currently on a Form 3 for quick and easy purchase. The current NFA paperwork notes the manufacturer as “US” and the model as “M2.”
