This Chester County Armory listing is for a transferable, like new condition, Rock Island Armory M60 7.62x51mm NATO belt-fed general purpose machine gun that has been featured in various Hollywood films and television shows, and will come with documentation authenticating one of its most famous screen-time uses.

Machine Gun, 7.62mm M60, as it was first formally known upon its initial adoption to by US forces in the 1960’s, has been the quintessential American general purpose machine gun going on almost seven decades now. It has been used by every branch of the US Military in multiple generations and configurations, and has been featured in and almost uncountable number of various Hollywood movies and tv shows in the 1970’s, ’80’s, and ’90’s.

This particular transferable weapon was manufactured by Rock Island Armory, and previously owned by a private company that was an armorer of weapons to various Hollywood movie and television productions (including the original Miami Vice TV show and the theatrical film Die Hard).  This transferable M60 machine gun was famously used and fired with live ammunition by both television personality Conan O’Brien and the late renowned journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson in a 1997 Late Night with Conan O’Brien episode. Purchase of this model will include signed documentation authenticating use of this exact weapon, by serial number, in the use and production of that episode.

This transferable belt-fed machine gun is currently in excellent, like new mechanical and cosmetic condition.  It has been fully inspected, upgraded, and completely refurbished by renowned Class 3 Gunsmith Mike Friend of Firing Line in Wyandotte, OK. This model runs absolutely flawlessly with standard SAAMI spec ammunition. It features a new condition original barrel and gas system that has only been test-fired during inspection. The feed mechanism, and bolt assembly are all in excellent, like new condition. The fire controls note only minor physical wear. The original forend, stock, and pistol grip are also in very good to excellent condition, with only minor handling marks observed. The left side of the receiver notes a small mark due to use and handling, but the remainder of the metalwork displays no dents, dings, cracks, malformations, etc.

This highly prized and collectible belt-fed general purpose machine gun is fully transferable and is currently on a Form 3 for quick and easy purchase. The current NFA paperwork notes the manufacturer as “Rock Island Armory” and the model as “M60.”
