This Chester County Armory listing is for a rarely-seen for civilian sale used Penn Arms GL65-40 40mm 6-shot grenade launcher. This item is an NFA registered Destructive Device, and will need to go through the NFA process for purchase.
The Penn Arms model GL6540 is a multi-shot grenade and less lethal launcher chambered in 40x46mm NATO. It features a six shot, 5″ rotary cylinder magazine that is spring wound for reliable multi-firing operation without a need to physically manipulate an action during firing. This model features a 12″ 40mm fully rifled barrel, vertical adjustable foregrip, optic rail with fixed sight, and a rarely seen factory skeletonized fixed stock. This weapon was previously owned and used by a US Law Enforcement agency.
This NFA Destructive Device grenade launcher is in excellent mechanical and functional condition. All mechanisms operate smoothly and appropriately. The bore notes clean rifling with only minor physical wear. The bolt face is clean and intact. The rotary cylinder mechanism operates appropriately, with good spring tension in the magazine cylinder.
Cosmetically, this registered Destructive Device is in overall good condition, as it does show significant exterior handling and use marks, along with surface scratches in the original factory finish (see photos). While it does note various cosmetic handling and use marks, it does not have any cracks, dents, malformations, etc., in the metalwork or the polymer components. All marks are cosmetic in nature only. This model also notes markings by the original law enforcement department that previously possessed this weapon in the form of permanent marker on the weapon at various spots.
This Penn Arms Model GL65-40 40mm grenade launcher is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer.
Individuals: prior to purchase, please make sure your Class 3 FFL/SOT dealer can accept a Destructive Device transfer. Under ATF rules, Type 01, Type 02, and Type 07 dealers may only accept two DD transfer’s per SOT year. An acknowledgement letter from these types of FFL/SOT dealers will be required to process a transfer. Type 09 and Type 10 FFL/SOT dealers are exempt from this requirement.
