This Chester County Armory listing is for a German factory built and imported Heckler & Koch model MP5SD 9x19mm NATO integrally suppressed transferable submachine gun with original factory-matching HK SD silencer.
This rare and exceptional model was originally made in Oberndorf, West Germany in 1985 by Heckler & Koch GmbH as a factory submachine gun. It was then subsequently imported by H&K themselves into the United States as a direct sale for a US Law Enforcement agency. Based on BATFE’s import rules and provisions in the Gun Control Act of 1968 (as well as designations made in the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act of 1986), this allows models meeting certain LE use and purchase requirements to be classified as transferable models upon release by the LE agency, even though it is a post-1968 foreign-made machine gun.
As an original factory machine gun, this weapon utilizes the original HK machine gun push pin lower, allowing it to be interchanged with any HK machine gun pack. Currently, it features the highly desired Navy ambidextrous factory trigger group and housing. This model showcases a trigger pack with safe, semi-automatic, two round burst, and full-auto controls. The two round burst feature is often referred to as an FBI model, as they famously requested this setup on many of their MP5 models.
This gorgeous transferable factory submachine gun is excellent, like new condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It has been test fired and functions flawlessly with standard SAAMI spec ammunition in both supersonic and subsonic loadings. The metalwork notes no dents, dings, cracks, gouges, malformations, etc. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The fire control group and bolt assembly note only minor physical wear. Cosmetically, this weapon appears in outstanding, like new condition as it has been professionally refinished by renowned HK gunsmith Ralph Smith Sr. of RDTS Manufacturing.
