This Chester County Armory listing is for an original German factory-made MP-40 9mm fully transferable, C&R eligible, wartime production submachine gun. 

Built in 1941 by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria for the German War Machine, this German MP40 submachine gun wears it’s history proudly in its metal. Marked with the German manufacturer code of “bnz” for the Steyr factory, along with the various Waffenamt proof marks observed throughout the metalwork, this outstanding C&R eligible transferable machine gun is in overall excellent condition. All numbers on this weapon match the original German factory serial number, except for the barrel, which was changed at some point in its history.  The original Steyr bolt and firing pin are correctly matched to the serialized receiver, sporting the three final digits. The trigger housing, stock, mag well, and chamber are also correctly serial number matched to the weapon.

The transferable submachine gun has been test-fired and runs flawlessly with standard 9mm NATO ammunition. The metalwork is solidly intact, with no dents, dings, cracks, malformations, etc. observed. The original bolt and firing pin note only minor surface finish wear. The lower receiver and furniture are in excellent condition with only limited handling marks and finish wear observed. The barrel rifling remains crisp and well-defined with only a slight discoloration noticed. Cosmetically, the weapon notes bluing wear in the factory original finish and has patinaed at spots to an eye-pleasing gray and auburn. No corrosion or detrimental concerns in the metalwork is noted.  Purchase of this weapon will include one original German MP38/MP40 32rd detachable box magazine.

This fully transferable submachine gun is currently on a Form 3 for quick and easy transfer. The current NFA Form 3 lists “Germany” as the manufacturer and “MP40” as the model.
