This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory Colt Model 635 9mm SMG fully transferable submachine gun with a LaFrance Specialties Model Colt SMG 9mm NFA silencer/suppressor and additional accessories.

This model is an original Colt factory weapon, that was built and NFA registered by the Firearm Division of Colt Industries in Hartford, CT in the early 1980s. It features its factory original two-position telescoping carbine stock, 10.5″ barrel, 9mm heavy buffer, and its original fixed carry handle upper with A1 rear sight that were used by Colt on the 9mm SMG models of this era.

Rarely seen available for purchase, this full-auto rated suppressor was one of the first dedicated and successful designs ever developed specifically for the Colt 9mm SMG machine gun. Tim LaFrance of LaFrance Specialties in San Diego, CA was responsible for this setup. Utilizing an attachment block to the front sight post and bayonet lug as a solid stop point, this suppressor is directly threaded to the barrel (and removable) and uses an original Colt 9mm BCG that has been adapted by LaFrance to allow for proper function and better reliability in full-auto with the pressure changes due to suppressor use. A second, original, non-altered Colt 9mm SMG bolt carrier group is also included with the purchase to be used as a spare or to allow the operator to change the setup back to the original heavy BCG if the suppressor is removed. Also included with this package are two Colt factory original 30rd magazines, as well as an original Colt 9mm SMG manual, factory, sling, cleaning brush, and oil bottle.

Overall, this weapon is excellent condition and runs very well with standard 9mm NATO ammunition. Mechanically, the SMG internals note only minor wear and use marks. The action is smooth and operates appropriately. The barrel remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The bolt face on both carriers is well-defined and clean. Suppressor attachment threads are clean and sharp. The metalwork is all solidly intact throughout both the weapon and the suppressor.

Cosmetically, this model is in very good condition, and does note minor use and handling marks, with light surface scratches noted in the exterior original anodized finish of the weapon. It also notes some minor marks on the charging handle and the carry handle that appear to be from storage, as well as some on the bottom of the magazine well from contact with the metal magazine.  The suppressor itself notes only very minute handling marks. The original white-inlayed manufacturer markings on the suppressor are solidly intact, with no noted wear.
