This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory original Colt Model 613 M16A1 5.56mm fully transferable select-fire machine gun.
The Model 613 is Colt’s designation of their standard M16A1 20″ barreled 5.56mm rifle machine gun as specifically intended for either US commercial sales or foreign export. Factory 613’s are SAFE/SEMI/AUTO marked models that feature a 20″ 1 in 12 twist CMP marked barrel with a full birdcage flash hider. The A1 upper notes a teardrop forward assist and no brass deflector. The 613 model is physically the same as the US Military 603 version, differing from the factory only in the physical roll stamping of the model, and, of course, lacking the “Property of the US Government” designation. This particular transferable machine gun is in the 9 million serial number range, and was likely manufactured in or around the early 1980’s. It features the highly desirable Colt block letter M16A1 roll mark.
This beautiful Colt M16A1 is in excellent overall condition. It notes both its original triangle forearm and Type E stock with trapdoor, however it has been upgraded with an A2 Colt pistol grip. Mechanically, this model is in fantastic shape. The internal fire controls note only minor wear. The “C” marked bolt head retains a solid bolt face with moderate wear noted on the carrier. The original chrome lined bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean, well-delineated rifling. The metalwork notes no dents, dings, gouges, cracks, malformations, etc. of any type. This model has been test fired and runs flawlessly with standard 5.56mm SAAMI spec ammunition.
Cosmetically, this weapon is also in excellent condition. The metalwork notes only limited surface handling marks. The forearm and pistol grip note only minor markings. The original Type E stock and buttplate displays some minor storage markings in the polymer, but is solid with no heavy scratches, cracks, or degradation observed. The original factory phosphate gray finish is in beautiful condition, with only limited handling marks and light surface scratches observed. Purchase of this NFA transferable machine gun will include one 30rd Colt factory magazine.
This fantastic, investment-grade, US factory manufactured Colt Model 613 M16A1 transferable machine gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16A1” as the model.
