This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare, select-fire, fully NFA transferable Armi Jager AP85 .22LR bullpup-design machine gun.
The AP85 was originally intended by Armi Jager as an early 1980’s .22LR plinker-style rifle that was built as a semi-auto bullpup gun. It incorporated design elements of various popular bullpup machine guns of the era such as the British L85, the Norinco Type 86S, and, of course, the most closely visually related model of the French FAMAS. It is rarely seen as even a semi-automatic model, but almost unheard of in a select-fire NFA transferable machine gun setup.
This “Faux-Mas” model, as it is, was created by renowned Class 3 Gunsmith Mike Friend of Firing Line in Wyandotte, OK using a Hard Times Armory converted and NFA registered Armi Jager AP80/AK22 machine gun receiver and an original Armi Jager AP85 donor rifle. This amazing select-fire weapon features a 14.5″ barrel and a left side mounted fire control selector switch with safe, semi-automatic, and full-automatic three position controls. It takes standard Armi Jager .22LR AP80/AP84/AP85/AK22 factory magazines.
This NFA transferable .22LR machine gun is in excellent, like-new condition both cosmetically and mechanically. It functions extremely well with factory high-velocity .22LR ammunition in our testing. Action is smooth with a crisp, clean trigger. The bore remains bright and shiny with well-defined, clean rifling. The internal mechanisms note no visible wear. Cosmetically, this model is in outstanding, like-new condition with no noted handling or storage marks. Purchase of this model will include one 30rd factory magazine.
This fantastic investment grade, fully transferable machine gun is currently on a Form 3. The current Form 3 lists “Hard Times Armory” as the manufacturer and “AK22” as the model.
