This Chester County Armory listing is for an Action Manufacturing Co. M79 40mm grenade launcher.

Affectionally nicknamed “thumper” for the telltale sound it makes upon firing of a round, this M79 single shot break-action grenade launcher was remanufactured by Tim LaFrance of LaFrance Specialties utilizing original Action Manufacturing parts. This NFA Destructive Device is a complete and fully functional 40mm grenade launcher. It is in excellent overall condition, with only minor handling marks noted in the exterior parkerization and wooden furniture. All mechanical components operate appropriately. The metalwork contains no dents, dings, malformations, etc of any kind (outside of some minor cosmetic surface handling marks) and the wooden stock is in its original configuration with no cracks, and only minor surface handling marks noted. The barrel rifling remains clean, with no noted degradation.  Cosmetically, this weapon is in very good condition, with only minor handling and storage marks noted (see photos).

This M79 40mm grenade launcher is an NFA registered Destructive Device. This model is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer. The current Form 3 lists “LaFrance Specialties” as the manufacturer and “M79” as the model.

Individuals: prior to purchase, please make sure your Class 3 FFL/SOT dealer can accept a Destructive Device transfer. Under ATF rules, Type 01, Type 02, and Type 07 dealers may only accept two DD transfer’s per SOT year. An acknowledgement letter from these types of FFL/SOT dealers will be required to process a transfer. Type 09 and Type 10 FFL/SOT dealers are exempt from this requirement.
