This Chester County Armory listing is for an Israel Military Industries (I.M.I.) Mini Uzi 9mm Parabellum transferable registered slotted bolt submachine gun.
First introduced in 1980, the IMI Mini Uzi was the first attempt to shrink the size of the venerable Uzi SMG platform into a smaller, faster, lighter, and, in turn, more clandestine version. IMI didn’t reinvent the wheel here, but basically improved on Uzi Galil’s already fabulous platform by simply shortening the barrel length, and shrinking the overall length of the weapon. The shortened upper, of course, necessitated the use of shortened, lighter bolt. This change then increased the cyclic firing rate of the Mini Uzi up to about 950rds per minute from the 600rd threshold of the full-size model.
This fantastic open bolt transferable machine gun consists of a B&G Machine NFA registered, slotted Uzi SMG full-auto bolt setup in an original Action Arms of Philadelphia imported IMI Mini Uzi 9mm Carbine. The lower features “A, R, and S” marked fire controls, for full-automatic, semi-automatic, and safe selections, respectively. The registered slotted Uzi SMG bolt has had its feet fitted correctly for clearance of the Mini Uzi’s original skeletonized trunnion. This model retains the barrel restrictor ring, but features a Mini Uzi correct factory ported IMI Mini Uzi SMG barrel that has been properly fitted to the weapon.
Overall, this transferable machine gun setup is in excellent condition. Mechanically, the weapon notes only normal wear markings on the bolt from firing use. The metalwork of the bolt is solid and intact, with no concerns. The bolt face remains crisp and well defined. The internal fire controls are solid and clean. The bore of the Mini SMG ported barrel remain bright and shiny, with crisp, clean rifling.
Cosmetically, this host weapon is also in excellent condition, with the original exterior matte black finish noting only very minor light cosmetic handling marks. The weapon notes no dents, dings, cracks, gouges, malformations, etc., in the metalwork. The top cover release displays some minor finish wear, but is only cosmetic in nature. The polymer furniture is also in excellent condition.
This fully transferable submachine gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “BG Machine” as the manufacturer of this registered machine gun bolt and “UZI” as the model. The IMI Mini Uzi host gun will transfer as a standard Title One rifle.
