This Chester County Armory listing is for an MK Arms Inc. Model MK760 9mm Parabellum NFA transferable submachine gun.

The MK Arms MK760 SMG is arguably one of the most renowned copies of a machine gun in the NFA world. Founded in 1983 by Mike Ruplinger and Kenneth Dominick, MK Arms acquired the production rights to the Smith and Wesson Model 76 after S&W had discontinued their model from production a few years prior. MK Arms saw a need to continue to service the existing Model 76’s that were still being used by the US Navy, as well as a commercial opportunity for the SMG. Hence, the legal creation of a nearly identical model that would be dubbed by them as the MK760. While the majority of the weapon is completely interchangeable, MK Arms also made some upgrades to their version, most notably using a solid aluminum frame for the pistol grip instead of the more fragile plastic version that was utilized by S&W.

This particular model features two different barrel setups. It has had it’s original barrel shortened to a 4.5″ length (along with a shortened shroud and barrel nut assembly) and threaded 1/2×28 to allow for suppressor use in a more compact form. It will also come with its full length original shroud and a brand new condition 8.9″ overall length barrel that is also threaded 1/2×28 for suppressor use.  This weapon will come with one 36rd magazine, as well.

This transferable MK Arms 760 SMG is in excellent mechanical condition. It has been recently inspected and test-fired by renowned Class 3 Gunsmith Mike Friend of Firing Line in Wyandotte, OK. All operational mechanisms run smoothly and appropriately. It has been test-fired and performed flawlessly with factory-grade, SAAMI spec 9mm NATO ammunition. Mechanically, the weapon notes only minor finish wear markings on the metal-to-metal contact points of the bolt assembly and receiver tube. The bolt notes only minor finish wear and the bolt face is clean and crisp. The trigger mechanism notes very little wear and the bore of the shortened barrel remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The longer barrel is in new, unfired condition. The metalwork is solidly intact, with no dents, dings, gouges, scratches, malformations, etc.

Cosmetically, the parkerization of the weapon is in overall very good condition, with minor handling marks  and finish wear observed in the original parkerization.  The finish has developed a nice eye pleasing auburn to gray patina at parts, but notes no rust or corrosion. The grips are in solid condition iwth only minor handling marks observed. The original fire selector switch does display minor finish wear markings in the receiver at the metal-to-metal contact points of the selector switch. These markings are universally inherent to the operational design of the weapon’s selector and safety engagement.

This MK Arms MK760 SMG factory transferable machine gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “MK Arms Inc.” as the manufacturer and “MK760” as the model.
