This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory original Colt Model 613 M16A1 5.56mm fully transferable select-fire machine gun.
The Model 613 is Colt’s designation of their standard M16A1 20″ barreled 5.56mm rifle machine gun as specifically intended for either US commercial sales or foreign export. Factory 613’s are SAFE/SEMI/AUTO marked models that feature 20″, 1 in 12 twist CMP marked barrels with a full birdcage flash hider. The A1 upper features a teardrop forward assist and no brass deflector. These models are physically the same as the US Military 603 versions, however the manufacture roll stamps are different. This particular model is in the 9 million serial number range, and was likely manufactured between 1975 – 1977. It features the highly desirable Colt block letter M16A1 roll mark.
This beautiful Colt M16A1 is in excellent overall condition. Mechanically, this model is in fantastic shape. The internal fire controls note very little wear. The “C” marked bolt remains crisp and clean with a sold bolt face with little wear observed. The original chrome lined bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean, well-delineated rifling. The metalwork notes no dents, dings, gouges, cracks, malformations, etc. of any type. This model has been test fired and runs flawlessly with standard 5.56mm SAAMI spec ammunition.
Cosmetically, this weapon is also in very good condition. The metalwork notes only limited surface handling marks. The original triangular forearm, original A1 pistol grip, and original Type F rifle stock also note only limited handling marks, with no major points of concern. The rear of the butt plate notes the start of a small pressure crack at the top connection point (which is common to rifle stocks of this era).
Purchase of this NFA transferable machine gun will include two factory Colt marked 30rd magazines and two factory Colt 20rd magazines, all in unfired, like-new condition.
This fantastic, investment-grade, US factory manufactured Colt Model 613 M16A1 transferable machine gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16A1” as the model.
