This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory original production Sturm Ruger Model AC-556K .223/5.56mm fully transferable machine gun.

This four-position factory select fire machine gun was designed, built, and NFA registered by the Sturm Ruger factory, themselves. With fire controls of safe, semi automatic, three round burst, and full automatic, this factory variant of the AC-556 line of models features the blued Ruger factory finish, along with the short 13″ barrel and factory side folding stock. The original birch stock has been coated with a hard based enamel to create a satin black finish. We are unaware of who performed the finish on this model, but it appears to have been professionally done. Many LE departments were known to have had the stocks of these models refinished in a black finish during the mid to late 1980’s.

This AC-556K model is in very good overall condition.  It runs and functions flawlessly with standard SAAMI spec ammunition. The metalwork is solidly intact throughout the receiver, with no dents, dings, malformations, gouges, etc. Minor finish wear is noted on the bolt rails at the metal to metal contact points. The bolt face remains clean and crisp. The bore and chamber are bright and shiny with clean, well-defined rifling. All operational mechanisms operate smoothly and appropriately.

Cosmetically, this model is also in very good overall condition. The bluing of the metalwork is still in its factory original state and notes only minor finish wear of the bluing. The sight assembly, which is notorious on these models for scuffs and showing damage, notes only minor markings. Some minor handling marks are observed on the top of the forearm. The stock is solidly intact, with only minor finish wear observed on the metal points. The wood stock notes considerably less marks and indentations in the birch than is typically observed on these models (most likely due to the harder black finish that has been applied).

This beautiful transferable factory machine gun is currently on an eForm ready Form 3 that lists “Sturm Ruger” as the manufacturer and “AC556K” as the model.
