This Chester County Armory listing is for a Danish factory original, Madsen M50 (aka, Model 1950) 9x19mm Parabellum Pre-May dealer sample only submachine gun with Venezuelan military markings.

The Madsen M50 with it’s clamshell, stamped metal design, is one of the more unique open-bolt submachine gun’s to come out of Europe during the SMG production barrage of the 1950’s and 60’s. Built in Denmark by Dansk Industri Syndikat of Copenhagen, this particular model was originally supplied as a factory contract to the Venezuela Air Force, as is noted by the engraved crest of Venezuela and the markings “F.A.P.” noted on the left side of the magazine well.  This model is also a low three digit serial numbered version.  Reliable and easy-shooting, this model has been test-fired and runs flawlessly. It features its original tubular folding stock along with its original leather stock wrap, as well as the unique front grip safety the Madsen is known for. Purchase will include one original factory M50 32rd magazine.

Mechanically, this weapon is in excellent overall condition. The bolt face remains crisp, clean, and well-defined with only minor internal wear markings in the finish noted. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. All firing and safety mechanism operate smoothly and appropriately.  The metalwork is in excellent condition with no cracks or causes for concern. Cosmetically, this weapon is also in outstanding condition, with only limited handling and use marks observed. The leather wrap on the stock remains clean and supple. The exterior and interior finish show very little wear and is in overall beautiful condition.
