This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory Colt Browning .303 MK II* transferable aircraft belt-fed machine gun that has been setup as a general purpose machine gun chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO.

The Browning .303 MK II machine gun was originally a modified version of the Browning M1919 chambered in .303 British and designed for fixed mounts in British aircraft prior to WW2.  These models were originally designed to be fired by pneumatics or hydraulically, but were also adapted by the British to be manually fired from turret and bubble mounts on British bombers.  The changes in design on these models increased the firing rate to approximately 1200 rounds per minute, more on par with the American AN/M2 models over the standard M1919 variants.

This particular weapon has been reconfigured by famed gunsmith Mike Friend of Firing Line in Wyandotte, OK to fire standard 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition from a closed bolt position. Purchase will include the original .303 British components for reconfiguration back to the original .303 caliber setup, if so desired. Purchase will also include an original WW2 tripod mount with pintle and T&E.

Overall, this fully transferable belt-fed machine gun is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It runs flawlessly with standard 7.62mm NATO spec ammunition. The metalwork is in outstanding condition, with no dents, dings, cracks, gouges, malformations, etc of note. Cosmetically, the weapon denotes only minor handling and use marks and light surface scratches.
