This Chester County Armory listing is for a transferable Browning Model 1919A4 .30-06 Springfield belt-fed machine gun built by Inland Arms Co. of Austin, TX.

Arguably, one of the the most versatile and ubiquitous general-purpose machine guns ever developed, John Browning’s M1919 platform has been in consistent use by militaries around the world since its initial development over a 100 years ago. By far, the most common and most deployed version of this was the M1919A4 that was put into production in 1936. Its adaptive nature allowed it easily convert from infantry use, to vehicular mounts, to anti-aircraft use, and others.

This wonderful condition, fully transferable belt-fed machine gun was manufactured by Charles “Chuck” Hudak at Inland Arms Co. of Austin, TX using original USGI parts and an NFA registered side plate. Mr. Hudak’s gunsmithing work was always highly regarded due to not only his impeccable workmanship, but also his extraordinary attention to detail. This spectacular model is no exception, even right down to the original US Inspector markings. In addition to the serial number, the left side of the receiver reads “U.S. INSP. C.E.H.”, “BROWNING MACHINE GUN”, U.S. CAL .30 M191A4″, “MAN’FD BY INLAND ARMS CO. “, “AUSTIN. TEXAS”. It appears most visible parts are two digit serial number matched to the weapon receiver.

This model is in spectacular mechanical and cosmetic condition. Physically, it displays VERY limited wear, and appears to have been fired very little during its lifetime. The metalwork is in fabulous condition, with no dents, dings, cracks, gouges, malformations, etc.. The internals are all clean and crisp, with only very limited markings on internal metal parkerization. The bore remains bright and shiny with clean, well-delineated rifling. The exterior parkerization is in excellent condition, and, again, appears to have been well-maintained with only minor handling.

This model came to us from the estate of now-deceased firearms collector who has been the sole owner of this transferable machine gun since prior to 1986. His family believes he never fired this weapon once during his long ownership, but kept it solely as a proverbial safe-queen and investment weapon. Included with the purchase of this transferable machine gun is an original, olive-drab German MG 34 Anti-Aircraft bipod and a custom pintle mount that allows mounting of the M1919A4, along with an original canvas carrying strap for the bipod. Also included with purchase is a crate of belted .30-06SPR ammunition, ready for use. There are several belts with starters, and approximately 540rds of total ammunition.

This fully transferable belt-fed gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Form 2 Registration” as the manufacturer of this registered machine gun and “M1919A4” as the model.
