This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare firearm that was never offered for sale commercially by the manufacturer; a Colt Offensive Handgun .45acp semi-automatic pistol with an original Knights Armament Co. OHG suppressor built solely for use with this weapon platform.

Originally designed by Colt for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Offensive Handgun Weapon System program in the early 1990’s, Colt’s Offensive Handgun was one of only two accepted submissions to the OHWS program by manufacturers. After several physical trials, the contract for that program was eventually won by the other submitter, Heckler & Koch GmbH, with a model that would become known as the Mk23 Mod 0 upon its adoption. It is thought that there were only about a total of 30 Colt Offensive Handguns produced in total by Colt, most of which were destroyed or rendered inoperable during the physical trials of the program. This particular model is serial numbered RB00034.

Purchase of this rare OHG setup also includes two factory magazines, a replacement parts kit, and a rare, original notebook from one of the OHG Colt product engineers, Bill Shine. This 145 page journal is hand written by Mr. Shine detailing the dated production steps as they were taking place. This is a very rare and unique piece of history detailing the development of this model as it was taking place.

Mechanically, this model is in excellent, fully functional condition. All mechanism operate appropriately. Barrel rifling remains clean and crisp. The metalwork is all solid, with no dents, cracks, malformations, etc. Cosmetically, this model shows significant amounts of handling and physical use marks consistent with a firearm that was tested and evaluated, but notes no operational concerns. The suppressor condition cosmetically matches that of the firearm, and only minimal internal wear is observed on the interior baffles.

Currently, the NFA silencer is on an eForm capable Form 3 that lists “Knight’s Armament Company” as the manufacturer and “OHG” as the model. The pistol will transfer as a standard Title One firearm.
