Status: SALE PENDING
This Chester County Armory listing is for a beautiful condition P.A.W.S. Inc / Olympic Arms SGW CAR AR registered receiver transferable M16 machine gun set up as 20″ full size M16A2 service rifle / select fire machine gun.
This beautiful NFA transferable machine gun was created by the P.A.W.S. Inc company based in Salem, OR. .by converting a forged AR receiver manufactured by Olympic Arms into a traditional M16 setup through the use of mil-spec M16 fire controls. This AR-15 model is setup in a configuration of the M16A2 20″ service rifle through the use of a Bushmaster fixed carry handle AR upper. This weapon features AUTO marked three position fire controls, a fixed polymer stock, an A2 fixed carry handle upper with forward assist and a brass deflector. It also features a 20″ 1/9 twist barrel, which is perfect for firing lighter grain weight (55gr and 62gr) ammunition that is typically market available in more affordable quantities than the higher grain weight (77gr) designed for the 1/7 twist barrels.
Overall, this weapon is in absolutely fantastic condition! This model has been thoroughly inspected and test-fired and runs flawlessly. Mechanically, the bolt carrier group, hammer, and fire controls show only minor physical wear. The sear is in excellent condition, with very little wear noted. The bore and chamber remain bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The metalwork is superb, with no dents, cracks, malformations, etc. noted.
Cosmetically, this weapon is in almost like new condition. At some point, the upper and lower appear to have been professionally refinished to to match perfectly. The “SAFE” and “FIRE” markings are difficult to see due to refinishing, but the “AUTO” stamp is clear and crisp. The polymer furniture notes some minor handling marks at spots, but nothing that is more than cosmetic in nature (see photos). The only marks of note in the exterior finish on the metalwork of this weapon are the normal marks of the dust cover opening and one small minor mark on the front of the magazine well. Otherwise, the finish is like-new.
This particular M16 style machine gun would be a great investment model for the collector who wishes to shoot his machine guns and/or upgrade it to more modern platform, as the lower receiver is a standard sized front pin model that will accept standard M16/AR-15 upper receivers without the need of a conversion pin or other process.
The current NFA paperwork indicates the manufacturer of this weapon as “Olympic Arms (SGW)” and the model as “CAR AR”. This model is currently on a Form 3 for fast and easy transfer via eForms.
