This Chester County Armory listing is for a fantastic condition, and increasingly rare, Heckler & Koch Model HK 53 5.56mm NATO transferable machine gun.
This amazing transferable machine gun utilizes a NFA registered Fleming HK sear as the registered machine gun part, along with an H&K Model 53 SBR as a host gun. The host gun was initially setup created and setup as a sear-ready specimen by famed H&K gunsmith Ralph Smith at RDTS Manufacturing. The rifle itself started out life as an HK imported model 93 that has been converted to its short barrel brethren, model HK 53. The registered Fleming HK sear was then installed in an original HK SEF trigger pack for use with this weapon. The registered Fleming sear is not married to the host gun, and may be moved to other host models without any additional requirements.
This SBR host features an HK 53 correct 8.3″ length barrel, a Heckler & Koch A2 fixed stock, and has been correctly remarked to read “HK 53” as the model. This weapon also features a rare, original, H&K factory forend for the 53 that featured an integrated hand stop. These forends were only offered on limited numbers of 53 models by Heckler and Koch, so as to protect an operators hand from the immense blast of the 5.56mm cartridge when fired from such a short barrel. The trigger housing is an SEF marked grip contoured grip that has been properly clipped and pinned for use on this weapon.
This beautiful transferable machine gun setup is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. This model runs just like you would expect a Heckler & Koch model to run….absolutely flawlessly. The bolt carrier group and internals note very little wear, outside of a few marks on the bolt head. The bore is bright and shiny, with crisp rifling. The Fleming HK sear and full-auto trigger group are in excellent condition, with no noted wear outside of a few marks on the .223 ejector.
Cosmetically, the exterior finish is in factory new condition, and notes virtually no handling or storage marks, whatsoever. The metalwork notes no dings, dents, scratches, gouges, malformations, etc. The polymer furniture is also in excellent condition.
This spectacular machine gun setup is fully transferable and is currently on an eForm-capable Form 3 for easy transfer. This model will require two NFA stamps (one for the machine gun sear and one for the short barrel rifle host). The current Form 3 lists “Fleming” as the manufacturer of this machine gun sear and “HK” as the model, while the Form 3 for the host short barrel rifle lists the manufacturer as “RDTS MFG” and the model as “53.”
