This Chester County Armory listing is for an all-German, factory original, Heckler & Koch MP5SD 9mm Parabellum fully transferable, select fire integrally suppressed submachine gun. This is a German factory-built original transferable machine gun with an original HK factory suppressor that is weapon matched by serial number by HK to match the factory machine gun. This is not a conversion model.
This exceptional, fully transferable weapon system was originally constructed in Oberndorf, West Germany in 1985 by Heckler & Koch GmbH as a factory machine gun and silencer. It was then subsequently imported by H&K themselves into the United States as a direct sale for a US Law Enforcement agency. Based on BATFE’s import rules and provisions in the Gun Control Act of 1968 (as well as designations made in the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act of 1986), this allows models meeting certain LE use and purchase requirements to be classified as transferable models upon release by the LE agency, even though it is a post-1968 foreign-made machine gun.
As an original, H&K factory production gun, this transferable machine gun features the H&K machine gun push pin design that allows all H&K factory trigger packs to be installed. This model is IF date coded (1985) and features an HK four position Navy ambidextrous trigger pack with safe, semi-automatic, three round burst, and full-automatic fire modes. It also features its original HK integrally ported barrel and attachment system with an HK removable factory suppressor that is serial number matched to the gun by Heckler & Koch, themselves.
Overall, this model is in above average condition. Mechanically, it has been fully inspected and operates flawlessly with standard SAAMI spec 9x19mm ammunition. The metalwork notes no dings, dents, or malformations. The bolt face remains crisp and clean. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. and the four position Navy pictogram fire control group and housing are in excellent, like-new condition.
Cosmetically, the original exterior finish appears in very good to excellent condition with only minor handling and physical use marks observed, which is well-above average for former LE owned weapons. The only marks in the metal finish of note are small markings at the scope mount connection points of the upper receiver, where a HK MP5 scope mount was installed at some point. The polymer forend and stock are in excellent condition, as well, with only limited handling marks observed. The HK Navy three round burst, four-position trigger housing is in outstanding physical condition.
The included original HK factory suppressor is also in very good overall condition, as well. Mechanically, the internal baffles note only minimal erosion, limited carbon buildup and no observed lead deposits. Cosmetically, it is in very good condition with some small handling marks and some minor finish wear observed on the end cap.
Purchase of this model will also include a factory Heckler & Koch A3 collapsible stock, an original SEF polymer contoured MP5 trigger pack and housing, an original HK OD Green 2pt or 3pt convertible sling, and one 30rd factory magazine that is IF date coded to match the weapon. The included extra trigger pack and A3 stock are both in used but excellent condition. The factory A3 stock does note some minor movement at full extension, but nothing that is outside of acceptable use parameters by H&K. The metalwork of the A3 stock appears to have been professionally refinished in an HK black at some point.
This fantastic, collector and investment-grade, German factory manufactured Heckler & Koch transferable MP5SD submachine gun and NFA silencer are currently on Form 3’s for easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork for this transferable machine gun lists “Imported NFA Firearm” as the manufacturer and “MP5SD3” as the model. The transferable NFA silencer is also listed as “Imported NFA Firearm” and “MP5SD3,” respectively.
