This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare, unfired, fully transferable Colt M16A2 5.56mm NATO machine gun with the unique and collectible serial number of A8000000. 

This new-in-the-box machine gun was originally featured in Colt’s official factory archives and museum as a display example of a Colt-produced M16A2 machine gun built for the commercial market. From Colt, this model wound its way into the personal collection of a former Colt executive before arriving directly into our possession. This superb example of Colt’s commercial prowess in machine guns has never been fired outside of any factory testing. It comes in an original Colt box, along with an original Colt M16A2 Owner’s Kit and even includes an on original Colt barrel wick for storage purposes.

This unique and rare commercial model Colt M16A2 5.56mm NATO transferable machine gun features the desirable SAFE, SEMI, and BURST markings and fire control configuration, a 20″ fixed A2 1/7 twist barreled upper, and a fixed rifle stock. This machine gun is in fantastic, museum-quality condition both mechanically and cosmetically, with only limited handling marks noted on the exterior (see photos). The metalwork contains no dings, dents, cracks, malformations, etc. The internals note only the smallest of metal-to-metal markings due to physical manipulation and clearing of the action. The fire controls are in spectacular condition.

This investment-grade, rare and collectible Colt M16A2 museum-piece is a fully transferable machine gun and is currently on a Form 3.  The current NFA paperwork lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16A2” as the model.
