This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory original Colt M16A1 Model 613 5.56mm NATO auto marked select-fire transferable machine gun.

Built as a factory transferable machine gun, the Colt Model 613 was originally manufactured by Colt from 1973 to 1982 as an M16A1 intended for commercial US law enforcement sales,  as well as export military and commercial sales. This beautiful weapon features all of its original factory components, starting with its original 20″ 1/12 twist factory 5.56mm barrel with a full birdcage flash hider. The barrel is set in a C H marked A1 fixed carry handle upper with tear drop style factory forward assist. It also features the original triangular forearm and A1 grip, along with its original Type E factory stock with trapdoor.  The factory finish on this weapon is Colt’s original factory gray finish. The left side of the magazine well on this model also features the desired, later production “COLT M16A1” block letter markings under the Colt “prancing pony” logo. This weapon is also in the known, later production 9 million serial number range.

This transferable machine gun is in overall excellent, collector-grade condition.  Mechanically, all components are in very good to excellent condition, with only minor noted wear observed. The bolt face remains clean and crisp. The BCG group notes only minor finish wear. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The internal fire controls also note only minor wear, However the face of the hammer notes a little more finish wear as compared to the rest of the original internals (most likely due to dry firing of the weapon).

Cosmetically, this weapon is also in overall excellent condition, with only very minor light handling and storage marks observed in the original factory finish of the metalwork. The original triangular forearm is excellent with only minor storage marks observed in the polymer. The forend is more of the less gloss black variety, consistent with Colt’s late production of these models in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s.  The original A1 pistol grip and original Type E factory stock are also in excellent overall condition, with only limited use and handling marks noticed.

This collectible, investment-grade Colt M16A1 Modle 613 factory machine gun is fully transferable and currently on a Form 3. The current Form 3 lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16” as the model.
