This Chester County Armory listing is for a factory original Colt Model 653 M16A1 Carbine in 5.56mm NATO transferable machine gun.

Built as a factory transferable machine gun, the Colt Model 653 features a 14.5″ 1/12 twist pencil barrel barrel with an A1 fixed carry handle upper with forward assist, as well as a two-position aluminum stock. The factory finish on this weapon is in Colt’s original anodized gray finish.

This transferable machine gun is in excellent collector-grade condition.  Mechanically, all components are in above average condition, with only minor noted wear observed. The bolt face remains clean and crisp. The BCG group notes only minor finish wear. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The weapon does note a small blemish on the left side of the receiver at the buffer tube, but this appears to have been from the factory, as the original finish is intact all around it, and this weapon does not appear to have been refinished in any way.

Cosmetically, this weapon is also in overall excellent condition, with only very minor light handling and storage marks observed in the both the original factory finish of the metalwork and the A2 factory polymer furniture.

Purchase of this transferable machine gun will include a Colt factory Owner’s Pack with an original M16A1 Carbine manual, sling, two 30rd magazines, and factory cleaning accessories. 

This collectible, investment-grade Colt M16A1 factory machine gun is fully transferable and currently on a Form 3. The current Form 3 lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16A1” as the model. The barrel length is also listed correctly on the Form 3 as “14.5.”
