This Chester County Armory listing is for a nard-to-find, like-new condition, factory original Colt factory Model 701 M16A2 auto marked 5.56mm NATO 20″ barreled transferable machine gun.

Mostly seen from the factory with burst marked fire controls, this rarely seen Colt M16A2 is a factory original model with SAFE. SEMI. and AUTO markings and Colt factory installed full-auto fire controls. Typically, the M16A2 models from Colt with auto controls were only available as a special order or for commercial export, as Colt had shifted production of the M16A2’s during this era to burst models, to correspond with production for the US military’s demands. This model features the 20″ 1/7 twist 5.56mm NATO CMP marked barrel with an A2 fixed carry handle upper. The factory finish on this weapon is in Colt’s original anodized gray.

This weapon is in absolutely outstanding, like-new, collector-grade condition. We are listing this model as used, however, it appears based on the internal fire controls, bolt carrier group, and barrel rifling that it may have never been fired or at the very least, fired very few rounds. Mechanically, all components appear to be in like-new condition, with no noted use or wear observed. Cosmetically, this weapon is also in phenomenal, like-new condition, with only very minor light handling and storage marks observed in the both the original factory finish of the metalwork and the A2 factory polymer furniture.

Purchase of this transferable machine gun will include an original Colt factory box and vapor bag that is model correct for distribution, however the box does not note a corresponding label from Colt and was not original to this particular weapon. Also included are a Colt factory Owner’s Pack with an original M16A2 rifle manual, sling,  two 30rd magazines, and cleaning accessories. 

This collectible, investment-grade Colt M16A2 auto marked factory machine gun is fully transferable and currently on a Form 3. The current Form 3 lists “Colt” as the manufacturer and “M16A2” as the model.
