This Chester County Armory listing is for a Cobray Street Sweeper 12ga rotating cylinder combat shotgun. This item is an NFA registered Destructive Device, and will need to go through the NFA process for purchase.
Originally built by Cobray as an American produced version of the Armstel Striker-12 combat shotgun, the Street Sweeper was as renowned for its descriptive name, as much as it was for its unique revolving-cylinder design. Required by ATF to be registered as an NFA destructive device in the 1990s after they deemed the model had no sporting purpose, this combat shotgun features a top-folding stock, original vertical foregrip, and an 11.75″ barrel.
This weapon is in overall excellent mechanical and functional condition. The bore remains bright and shiny. The rotary cylinder mechanism operates appropriately, with good spring tension in the magazine cylinder. The weapon functions correctly with standard 12ga ammunition. The folding stock mechanism operates correctly and remains tight and solid both in folded and extended positions. Cosmetically, this registered Destructive Device is in overall very good condition. It does show some minor exterior handling and use marks and light surface scratches in original parkerized finish (see photos) but no cracks, dents, dings, malformations, etc., in the metalwork or in its polymer rear grip.
This Cobray Street Sweeper 12ga combat shotgun NFA destructive device is currently on a Form 3 for easy eForm transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Form 2 Registration” as the manufacturer and “SSA” as the model.
Individuals: prior to purchase, please make sure your Class 3 FFL/SOT dealer can accept a Destructive Device transfer. Under ATF rules, Type 01, Type 02, and Type 07 dealers may only accept two DD transfer’s per SOT year. An acknowledgement letter from these types of FFL/SOT dealers will be required to process a transfer. Type 09 and Type 10 FFL/SOT dealers are exempt from this requirement.
