Auto-Ordnance West Hurley Thompson M1 .45acp Transferable Submachine Gun, Unfired in Original Box
Status: In-Stock / Please Call to Purchase
This Chester County Armory sale listing is for an unfired condition Auto-Ordnance Thompson M1 .45acp transferable submachine gun.
Made in West Hurley, NY by Auto-Ordnance, this immaculate model was purchased by its most recent owner in the 1980’s directly from the Auto-Ordnance company, and put away for investment purposes. It has never been fired outside of factory texting and by all appearances, has been properly stored and maintained since then. This model will come in its original box, along with an era-correct Auto-Ordnance catalog and blank factory accessory order forms, as well as it’s original 30rd box magazine. Also included (but not pictured) is the original exterior packing sleeve that was used by Auto-Ordnance to ship the firearm. The outer sleeve will have some cosmetic damage as there appears to be a paint overspray on the exterior sleeve, but the Auto-Ordnance shipping information is still legible.
This transferable submachine gun is in fantastic cosmetic condition, with the only mark noted in the exterior bluing occurring at the metal-to-metal contact points of the charging bolt while in a rearward position. Overall, the original polished bluing is in amazing factory-new condition, with a mirror sheen seen throughout. The original wooden furniture is also spectacular, with almost no markings whatsoever. The internal fire controls and mechanism note no wear, whatsoever. The rear area of the trigger guard notes some very small surface degradation behind the trigger (see photos), but has since been oiled and cleaned to prevent any further damage to the metalwork. This marking is only cosmetic in nature.
This is a rare chance to own an unfired, factory-made Thompson machine gun. This fantastic, LNIB transferable submachine gun is currently available on an eForm-capable Form 3 that lists “Auto-Ordnance.” as the manufacturer and “M1” as the model.
