This Chester County Armory listing is for a Heckler & Koch HK23EK (5.56mm NATO) / HK21EK (7.62mm NATO) transferable belt-fed light / general purpose machine gun.
Designed by HK as a second generation, modernized version of their original HK21 model, this transferable registered receiver is setup as an HK23EK (5.56mm) but can be easily changed to an HK21EK (7.62mm) with the simple swap of a barrel, belt box, feed mechanism, and BCG (all of which are included with purchase). The specific model is based on the caliber which is installed with the 23 indicating 5.56mm AND 21 indicating 7.62mm. The E stands for export (and also upgraded for reliability) and the K stands for kurz, noting that this belt-fed model notes a shorter 11″ barrel shroud and will accommodate barrels that are only 12.75″ in length (in addition to the standard 17.7″ e barrels).
This beautiful and stunning, like new, NFA transferable convertible belt-fed machine gun was professionally constructed by Michael Otte of Michaels Machines using an original HK91 receiver that was converted and NFA registered by Weapon Specialties, along with an original all-German manufactured parts kit. Unlike many examples of 21EK’s and 23EK’s seen on the US market, this model is completely German production parts, including one original HK factory 5.56mm barrel and one original 7.62 HK factory barrel. (Two of the additional included barrels are US made by Michaels Machines production). Both included feed mechanisms for each caliber are original HK German factory original feed mechs. This model also features an original club style stock, bipod, forward vertical grip, and a four position (safe, semi, 3rd burst, and full) German trigger group housing.
In addition to the weapon and the German factory complete BCGs and feed mechanisms for each specific caliber, purchase of this belt-fed transferable machine gun will also include two caliber specific original German belt boxes (5.56mm and 7.62mm) and four total barrels (one German production HK 23E 5.56mm 17.7″ barrel, one MM 23E 5.56mm 12.75″ barrel, one MM 23E 5.56mm 14.5″ barrel with AAC flash hider, and one German production HK 21E 7.62mm 12.75″ barrel. .
This transferable NFA belt-fed machine gun is in absolutely stunning, like new condition both mechanically and cosmetically! Mechanically, this model has been test fired and functions flawlessly in both its 23E and 21E configurations. It has The bores of the barrels all remain bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The bolt faces remains crisp and clean with only minor carbon markings observed. The exterior metalwork is superb, with no dents, dings, gouges, marks, or wear of any type. Cosmetically, this entire weapon is in beautiful, like new condition with no use or handling marks observed, whatsoever.
This incredible investment-grade HK belt-fed transferable machine gun is currently on an eForm ready Form 3 for quick and easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Heckler and Koch GmbH” as the manufacturer and “91” as the model.
