This Chester County Armory listing is for an all-German, factory original, Heckler & Koch HK53 A3/A2 5.56mm NATO fully transferable machine gun. This is a German factory built original transferable machine gun and is not a conversion model.

This fantastic model was originally made in Oberndorf, West Germany in 1981 by Heckler & Koch GmBH as a factory machine gun. It was then subsequently imported by H&K themselves into the United States as a direct sale for a US Law Enforcement agency. Based on BATFE’s import rules and provisions in the Gun Control Act of 1968 (as well as designations made in the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act of 1986), this allows models meeting certain LE use and purchase requirements to be classified as transferable models upon release by the LE agency, even though it is a post-1968 foreign-made machine gun.

As an original, H&K factory production gun, this transferable select-fire machine gun features the H&K machine gun push pin design that allows all H&K factory trigger packs to be installed. This model has been updated to an HK four position Navy ambi trigger pack with safe, semi-automatic, two round burst, and full-automatic fire modes. It also features an HK A3 collapsible stock, an original Swiss B&T tri-railed push pin forend with Knights Armament rail covers. Purchase of this model will also include an original HK factory 33/53 A2 buffered fixed stock, an original HK factory 53 slim forend with hand stop, an MP5 wide forearm, and the original 0-1-25 trigger pack with the polymer contoured trigger housing. Purchase will also include one new condition German-made 30rd magazine.

Overall, this model is in above average condition as a former LE imported gun. Mechanically, it is in excellent condition. The metalwork is solid. The bore remains bright and shiny with crisp rifling. The bolt and bolt carrier note only minor wear. The fire control group notes only minor wear, as well.  Cosmetically, the weapon displays some minor scuffs and light scratches in its original HK factory finish and the polymer furniture, but no major dents, dings, cracks, scratches, etc.. The B&T railed forend notes some minor surface markings. The included Knight’s Armament rail covers are in like new condition.

This fantastic, investment-grade, German factory original Heckler & Koch transferable machine gun is currently on a Form 3 for easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists “Heckler & Koch GmbH” as the manufacturer and “HK53A2” as the model.
