This Chester County Armory listing is for a German factory original Heckler & Koch G3 FS 7.62x51mm NATO / .308REM fully transferable machine gun.

This collectible model was originally made in Oberndorf, West Germany in 1984 by Heckler & Koch GmbH as a factory machine gun. It was then subsequently imported by H&K themselves into the United States as a direct sale for a US Law Enforcement agency. Based on BATFE’s import rules and provisions in the Gun Control Act of 1968 (as well as designations made in the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act of 1986), this allows machine guns meeting certain LE use and purchase requirements to be classified as transferable models upon release by the LE agency, even though it is a post-1968 foreign-made machine gun.

As an original, H&K factory production gun, this transferable select-fire machine gun features the H&K machine gun push pin design that allows all H&K factory trigger packs to be installed. This model is IE date coded (1984) and features an original SEF trigger pack with safe, semi-automatic, and full-automatic fire modes. It also features its original HK A3 fixed OD Green stock to match it’s OD Green pistol grip and wide forend. This model is factory marked as “G3 FS” noting that from the factory it includes the “freischwinger” upgrades, which included a free-floated barrel and an upgraded rear drum sight that greatly improved the accuracy over the original G3 design. This model is often designated as a “G3E”, as well, as it is a G3 that was intended by Heckler & Koch GmbH for export to foreign entities. Purchase of this transferable machine gun will include the attached wide-style HK forend, as well as a factory original HK slimline forend, four total HK factory magazines ( two steel 20rd and two aluminum 20rd magazines), and an original German cleaning kit.

This transferable factory machine gun is in excellent overall mechanical condition. All mechanisms operate effectively and appropriately. The fire controls are excellent with only minor wear observed. The original factory bolt carrier and bolt note moderate wear with some minor finish patina observed. The bore remains bright and shiny with solid rifling.

Cosmetically, this model is in overall very good condition. The original finish of the metalwork notes minor surface markings an scratches, as well as wear and patina at parts. The stock and fire control pins note finish wear on the exposed ends of the metal. The polymer forend is in excellent condition, with only minor finish wear on the metal endcap. The pistol grip and rear stock are also in very good condition, with only minor handling marks observed.

This investment-grade factory G3 German machine gun is currently on an eForm ready Form 3 for quick and easy transfer. The current NFA paperwork lists the manufacturer as “Imported NFA Firearm” and the model as “G3E.”
