This Chester County Armory listing is for a British-designed STEN Mk II 9x19mm transferable submachine gun manufactured by Barr Armsmaker. It is also equipped with an integral MK25 suppressor system purpose-built by S.C.R.C.  

One of the most recognized and defining submachine guns of World War II, this STEN MK II model was built by James Barr of Barr Armsmaker in Frankston, TX using original British STEN parts and a U.S. manufactured receiver tube. Barr also originally customized this model using an British SMG pistol grip, to which he expertly attached a side folding stock mechanism from a Swedish K. This stock has configuration has now been changed back to an original British skeleton STEN stock, but both stocks are included with the purchase and can be easily interchanged by the user.  This model is currently set up as a Mk II (S), utilizing a transferable integral suppressor manufactured by S.C.R.C. in Houston, TX. In addition to the suppressor, purchase of this model will also include the original British barrel and barrel nut, allowing for easy swapping of the integral suppressor system. Two original 32rd magazines are also included.

Overall condition on this weapon is excellent. Mechanically, all mechanisms function appropriately. The bolt and bolt face note only minor wear and surface markings. The barrel retains its full rifling and remains clean and clear. The fire control group displays only minor wear. The metalwork of the weapon is consistent with surplus military STEN kits and notes no cracks or concerns to the structure of the firearm. All observed welds are solid and intact.

Cosmetically, this model is also in very good condition.  The gray re-parkerization that was performed by Barr is beautiful and consistent throughout the firearm. The included original skeleton stock retains the original British matte black finish and shows moderate use and finish wear, again consistent with a military surplus parts kit.  The included MK25 integral suppressor is also in very condition both from and operational and cosmetic standpoint, with only minor use and handling marks observed. The bore is slightly darkened, but retains full rifling with no observed oxidation. Only minor carbon fouling is observed.

Purchase of this model will require two separate NFA transfers (one for the suppressor, one for the machine gun). Both items are currently on eForm-capable Form 3s. The NFA paperwork for these models list “Barr, James dba Barr Armsmaker” and “SCRC” as the manufacturers and “STEN MK II” and “MK25” as the model, respectively.
