This Chester County Armory listing is for an original, factory built and NFA registered Model 1928 Thompson .45acp fully transferable submachine gun built by Auto Ordnance in their West Hurley, NY facility.
Built as a factory submachine gun and not a conversion, this beautiful 1928 model Thompson has been upgraded with USGI/Savage factory original internals. The original Savage bolt and internals are known for being far superior in performance, strength, and longevity as compared to the original West Hurley factory internals, which could be problematic at times.
This transferable Thompson is in overall excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. With the upgraded internals, this model fires and runs absolutely flawlessly with standard .45acp SAAMI spec ammunition. The bolt face is crisp and clean and the internals note very little wear markings. The barrel rifling remains clean and well-defined with a bright and shiny bore. The metalwork is solidly intact with no dents, dings, cracks, gouges, malformations, or any cause for operational concern.
Cosmetically, this model is in overall very good to excellent condition with only minor handling and use marks observed in the original high polished blue finish. The wood components are in excellent condition, with no cracks or dents, and only minor light surface handling marks observed. Purchase of this weapon will include a total of four 30rd magazines (two USGI parkerized magazines and two original high polish blued Seymour Products magazines. A three position magazine pouch is also included with the purchase.
The excellent NFA collector and shooter grade transferable submachine gun is currently on an eForm ready Form 3 that lists “Auto Ordnance” as the manufacturer and “1928” as the model.
